Have you been looking for a way to create a Custom URL for your LinkedIn Company Profile, similar to the one you (hopefully!) created for your LinkedIn personal profile?
It’s not obvious, but that custom URL for your LinkedIn Company Profile already exists. You just need to know the trick(s) to finding it.
The LinkedIn Company Profile Custom URL
When you create a LinkedIn Company Profile, LinkedIn shows a default URL in your browser window that includes the following:
www.linkedin.com/company PLUS a series of numbers, letters and symbols.
This unique URL will take readers to your profile but it fails to give clues to the name of the company the profile represents. It’s not the kind of URL that looks good in an email signature, online profile, poster or business card.
There is, though, a better choice — a unique “branded” URL that incorporates your company’s name, too.
To find the URL for your company profile, try one (or both) of these methods:
(1) Guess, using the following formula (and then test it in your browser – just to be sure!)
http://www.linkedin.com/company/Your-Company-Name
For example, the Robin S. Fox Consulting LinkedIn Company Profile Easy-on-the-Eyes URL is:
http://www.linkedin.com/company/robin-s-fox-consulting
This URL takes a visitor to the Company Profile’s main (overview) page.
(2) Click “Overview.” If you’ve added products and/or services to your profile, you’ll see an “Overview” Section for your business. Clicking “Overview” while you are in the LinkedIn Company profile will change a default URL such as:
http://www.linkedin.com/company/2289229?trk=tyah
to the more customized option of
http://www.linkedin.com/company/robin-s-fox-consulting
Product & Service Pages Also Have Custom Website URL’s
Have you created separate products or services offered pages on your company profile?
In a similar fashion, the custom URL for a product/service page extends the LinkedIn Company Profile URL formula.
The following, for example, will lead you to my service page on The Linkedin Bootcamp:
http://www.linkedin.com/company/robin-s-fox-consulting/the-linkedin-bootcamp
